Answered: How to cut up a pineapple

I remember asking my mother how to cut up a pineapple and she said, “with a knife” (mum had a terrible sense of humour). I then asked my grandmother (who was much more sensible) and she gave me the following foolproof step-by-step process:

Cut off the top and the bottom

Shave off the sides

Slice into circles

If you want small pieces, chop into pieces

If you want rings, use a cookie cutter to cut out the core (middle) of the pineapple circle (the core can sometimes be a bit tougher)

Answered: Why do people eat fast food?

Life is stressful and one of the way people relieve themselves is through eating junk food. Too much stress leads to out body expanding more energy, so we feel hungry for high-calorie food. That means high sugar, oil and fatty food, all of which are rich in fast and junky food.

And here’s one more factor to consider when you asking why do people eat fast food, that is high anxiety. High anxiety might lead people to eat junk food for comfort too, since when stressed, we look for ways to calm ourselves. Sugary, greasy junk food rewards your brain with that feel-good chemicals. When you are stressed you tend to get sleep deprivation as well. Lack of sleep, unfortunately, decrease our willpower to resist these irresistible foods, over healthier options. Again, these junk food makes us feel better about our terrible choices and the cycle continues.

Answered: How to remove food coloring from hands?

The scenario you have just described is beautiful even though those little hands may not look that way. Food color stains can be stubborn, and in such cases, you will need to use some unique approach that is suitable for it. Here is what I used to do:

Assemble your simple tools ready for the job. Get clean water, preferably running water, with baking soda, vinegar and a wash cloth;

Start off by rinsing the food coloring as much as possible;

Then, make a paste using water and baking soda. Rinse it and gently rub the baking soda into the skin, rinse the paste and apply vinegar again;

After the stain has been removed, you need to rinse or wipe the skin until it is clean. If you find it necessary, you may repeat the process.

As you carry out the whole process, you need to pay attention to a few issues:

Make sure that you don’t allow the young ones to get the vinegar or baking soda into their mouths. This will keep the children from getting hurt;

Do not scrub the child’s skin too hard because this may cause unnecessary damage to them. Be careful and gentle in your approach.

Hope I have answered your question of how to remove food coloring from hands.

Answered: Why is milk good for you?

Milk is actually way better for you than is advertised! We hear all about milk being a great provider of calcium, but did you know it also contains needed fat, carbohydrates and proteins as well as vitamins and minerals.

Carbohydrates are used by the body for energy. In cow’s milk lactose (a carbohydrate) is used to sweeten the milk.

Fats are not only important for healthy cells but many vitamins and minerals need fat to be absorbed into the body. A diet that contains all needed vitamins and minerals will still not keep the nutrition without adequate fat intake.

Milk not only contains a good supply of your needed daily intake of calcium but also contains phosphorous, vitamin A, and B vitamins. These vitamins and minerals assist your body in creating stronger bones, vibrant skin and help keep your immune system working properly. B vitamins also help keep your energy up.

Protein is the building block of every cell in your body. From your hair, skin and nails to your muscles and organs, protein is the essential building block and renewal system. Milk contains a very good amount of your needed daily intake of protein, nearly 8 grams!

Answered: How to make Butterbeer?

This one is mostly for alcoholics:

1-2 ounces of schnapps of Butterscotch, based on your preferred level of sweetness.

2 ounces of whipped cream with Vodka flavor.

6 ounces of cream soda

1 Tbsp of marshmallow mix.

Get one glass cup, form a mixture of the schnapps, ice, cream soda, and vodka. Strain the mixture into a cold plain pint glass. Whip the marshmallow mix together with a small quantity of the schnapps blended with butterscotch in a small container using a fork. Continue whipping it together until you form a pour-able mixture. Then top of your favorite drink.

Answered: How to make a milkshake

If you love learning with videos, try this 90 seconds video clip

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzfyfHUPfoo

Below are detailed instructions on how to make a milkshake.

Ingredients:

3 scoops of vanilla ice-cream

2 ounces of milk (60mL)

Caramel, chocolate, or strawberry syrup(optional)

3 cookies(crumbled) optional

Small pieces of candy from one candy bar (optional)

whisked cream (optional)

Procedures:

Place your glass cup in a refrigerator to give it a nice chill.

Temper your cream, but make sure it is not runny. This is the key step-if the ice cream comes out too hard, add a lot of milk and get it thinned out, and make the ice cream less concentrated. You can equally use low fat ice cream and frozen yoghurt.

You can make use of three scoops of ice cream, though it is four in the video. Try out some easy scoops of your best ice cream, add about 2 oz of milk with your favorite flavorings such as cookies or chocolate pieces or chocolate syrup. Don't add any ice to avoid watering it down. If you prefer thinner milkshakes, add some more milk.

If you decide to include some cookies to the milkshake, it is preferable to add about 3 roughly grinded cookies to your ice cream.

Lace it using more cookies or candy and whipped cream if required.

NB: If you wish to prepare a milkshake for adults, you can leave out the milk and use any liquor you like as an alternative. A splash of liquor will be enough.

Answered: Why is fast food bad for you?

The bad reputation held by fast food has a lot of contributing factors, but the foremost issue is that fast foods are packed with sodium and trans-fats. These two substances cause a lot of damage to your body. The more you eat, the more harmful they are.

Sodium - Fast food restaurants serve food that is legendarily high in sodium. Your kidneys’ job is to remove the salts from your body, but if you’ve consumed so much that they can’t get rid of it fast enough, the salts will build up in your system. All this accumulated sodium in your bloodstream means your heart has to work harder, which can lead to heart disease and high blood pressure. Also, putting such a burden on your kidneys can increase your risk of kidney disease.

Trans-fats - Possibly the most dangerous substance in fast food is trans-fats. Eating a large amount of trans-fats significantly increases your risk of heart attacks, diabetes, and stroke.

Sugar - Most people know about high fructose corn syrup in soft drinks, but few know that sugar is present in most items on a fast food menu. The average fast food burger has 10 grams of sugar, about as much as two cookies. Breakfast items on the fast food menu have even more sugar, even without the maple syrup.

Calories - Despite being high in calories, fast food has very little nutritional value. A fast food meal can have as much as 1,500 calories, which is more than half of the daily calorie intake needed for an adult. Also these empty calories come with 75 grams of fat, and almost no vitamins.

Offsetting good food - When you’re eating all these empty calories, you’re filling up space in your stomach that could be filled with healthier food.

Digestive problems - Fast food takes a toll on your digestive system, and people who eat a lot of it are likely to have stomachaches and other digestive issues. GERD, or gastro-esophageal reflux disease and IBS, or irritable bowel syndrome are both conditions that could develop in people who eat a lot of fast food.

Reference:

http://www.healthline.com/health/fast-food-effects-on-body

Answered: Why is root beer called root beer?

Pharmacists first created the kind of root beer we drink today by trying to spruce up some old recipes passed down to make a cure-all kind of syrup for customers. Root beer got the first part of its name from the main ingredient used, sassafras root. When people started realizing that it was a much better soft drink than miracle cure, they marketed it as “beer” to target the working class. This was kind of a big deal when the alcohol prohibition was going on in America, but root beer remained since it had no alcohol content. I guess the idea of drinking a root “beer” was kind of nice for some when all the alcohol was banned and taken off the market.

Answered: Why does Swiss cheese have holes?

Here’s an interesting fact about the holes in cheese you may not know. In the past, some cheese slicers met quite a number of troubles that are caused by the holes in Swiss cheese, so in 2000 FDA came out with a regulation that holes in Swiss cheese need to be between 3/8 and 13/16 of an inch in diameter.

Answered: Why do I crave chocolate?

Why do I crave chocolate? I don't really know why. Though I have heard there is a way you can stop your chocolate craving - sniffing some vanilla extract, and that controls the cravings to a very reasonable extent. It is nothing to worry about; it is not like drug addiction or anything like that.

Answered: How to make pizza at home

The Kidspot website is great for stuff like this – lots of suggestions that are quick and easy enough for the kids to help out with. I particularly like making this recipe with my kids; it’s quick, only has four ingredients and makes four separate pizza bases. You just mix 800gms of flour in a bowl with a sachet of dried yeast and a big pinch of salt, and then stir in 500mls of warm water to form a dough. Sprinkle some extra flour on a chopping board (can do this straight onto the bench but I found it easier to clean up afterwards if you use the board), put your dough on the floured section and knead it for 5-10 minutes (this basically just means push the outsides towards the middle with your knuckles, turn over and repeat). You’ll know when it’s been kneaded enough, the dough starts to look smooth. Smear some oil inside a bowl, put the ball of dough inside and then cover with plastic wrap and a tea towel and then leave it somewhere warm (my step-mothers trick is to fill a sink with warm water and then float the bowl in it). After about 2 hours the dough will be twice the size it was in the beginning (thanks to the yeast) and you can put it back on a floured surface and cut it into four equal portions. The recipe then recommends rolling each portion into a ball and covering with the tea towel for another 20 minutes, but I have found you can skip this step if you’re pressed for time. At this point you just roll each portion out into a pizza base size, top with whatever toppings you want and cook in a preheated oven (220°C) for about 20 minutes (crust will go golden when it is done).

Answered: How to keep brown sugar from getting hard?

I will vouch for the effectiveness of a slice of bread as I have seen my mom use it too. Another trick that I want to share is how to soften already clumpy and hard brown sugar. What I do is throw the sugar into the microwave with a moist paper towel for approximately 20 seconds! Yes, that’ the very simple solution if you need the sugar right away and don’t want to use a hammer to break it up. The sugar will absorb the moisture from the paper towel and soften the sugar. For really hard clumps that stubbornly refuse to let go, just repeat the process for a few times until they are soft enough to break with your fingers.

Build the crust

Dissolve the butter, enclosed in your microwave, placed in a medium-sized microwave secure bowl, or a pan.

Clean a 9 inches spring form saucepan with some quantity of the dissolved butter mixed with sugar, salt and the crumbs.

Press the mixture of the crumb over the saucepan bottom, and be careful to distribute the crust into all the edges evenly.

Bake until your cake turns golden brown, which normally takes about 15-18 minutes.

Allow it to cool, and wrap both up and bottom sides of the saucepan with a wrapping foil and place in it in your roasting plan.

2. Make the filling

Pound the creamy cheese with average speed using a manual mixer until the cheese becomes very smooth.

Add the grinded sugar and keep beating until it becomes fluffy and light, scrape the bowl's sides with beaters.

Beat in the soured cream, then the eggs, the vanilla, and the two citrus zests. Make sure you do not over whip.

Pour it into the full crust.

3. Prepare to do the baking

Boil some water using a medium saucepan or kettle.

Place the baking pan gently in your oven. Make sure the stand is not pulled from the oven.

Pour in a reasonable quantity of hot water to rise about halfway the upper half of the spring form saucepan.

Get the cheesecake baked for about 1 to 10minutes. The cakes' outer parts will be well set, but the middle will remain loose.

4. For the toppings

Mix the soured cream, the vanilla and the confectioner's sugar together.

Spread the mixture on top the baked cheesecake and put in back in the oven for about 5 minutes.

Turn off the oven, allow the cheesecake to cook with the left over oven heat for about an hour. This gentle last approach ensures that no crack occurs in the cheesecake.

5. Get your cheesecake served

Bring out the cheesecake from the baking pan and place it on a stand.

Use a knife and run round its two edges and cool it to room temperature.

Get it covered and refrigerated overnight or at least for about 8 hours. Make sure you bring your cheesecake to cool to room temperature 30 minutes prior to serving.

Take away the spring form rings.

Dip your knife in a very warm water, wipe it dry before you slice each piece.

Serve the cake with some berries, if required.

Now sit back and relish your home-baked standard cheesecake!

You can try other methods if you wish! Good luck to you!

This three minute video is also about how to make cheesecake:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI5gVEzrc_Q

Answered: How to keep green onions fresh

After a few days, your green onions are expected to wither up and die. If you maintain the coolest temperature in the fridge, you will find that certain vegetables still go limp. If you keep opening and closing the door of the fridge, you expose these plants to air that contributes to the degradation. So, the fridge and the freezer are not always the best places to store food.

You can avoid this natural process by regrowing onions. Indoors, keep these vegetables in a jar full of water. Place this container next to the air and sunlight near your window. Continue to add water to the roots and watch the plant flourish in the sunlight.

Another version is to cover the jar with a plastic bag and store it in the fridge. Every few days, check the growth of the plant and replace the water.

After a few days in the water, you may notice that some parts of the onions have browned and wilted. If this happens, you want to snip away the dead parts and see if the vegetable is good enough for use.

The point of buying fresh vegetables is to use them right away. These plants are plucked straight out of the ground and not meant for long-term storage. You can only keep fruits and vegetables fresh by keeping them out of the fridge. That means: you have to use them often and buy them frequently.

Answered: Why should pasta be cooked al dente?

Italians eat pasta al dente. Since pasta originated in Italy, it only seems natural that it be prepared the way it was meant to by its creators. With pasta being an Italian food, other countries who serve it were taught how to do so by Italians.

The texture of al dente pasta is not soft (or “mushy”). Pasta is meant to keep its correct form, not completely break down like you spoke of in your description.

There is also belief that pasta actually has better health benefits when it is cooked al dente instead of cooked too long. The belief is that the GI rating of pasta is between 30 and 60, with al dente pasta being lower on the GI scale.

If pasta is cooked al dente, it takes longer to chew, longer to digest, and does not spike blood sugar levels as more-cooked pasta does. As I said, this is a belief. I can give you the reference I found this particular information on. If you want to check the authenticity of their claims, you should do so. The owner of the shop taught me how to store Macarons. I took his advice and I didn’t regret. Keep them stored in your refrigerator using an air-tight box. Make sure you warm them on the table for about 15 minutes before consuming them.

Answered: How to make mayonnaise

Here is the normal recipe for mayonnaise I found on the Internet:

Ingredients

egg yolks(4 free-range)

2 tsp English mustard(readily-prepared)

1 tablespoon vinegar(white wine)

1 pint vegetable oil/570ml

Freshly blended white pepper and sea salt

Method of preparation

Keep the egg whites separate from the egg yolks. You do not need the egg whites to prepare this dish, so they can be frozen to be used later or used for a separate dish. If the mayonnaise is to be prepared by hands, keep the egg yolks placed in a very clean bowl. Place some damp clothes under the bowl to keep it secured.

Mix the vinegar and mustard. Mix with a balloon whisker until the mixture blends well together. Mix some little quantity of the oil and continue whisking until the oil blends well into the mixture. Add some more oil and mix again.

Keep adding the oil, and whisk thoroughly in-between additions, keep mixing until you get an emulsified and thickened sauce after some minutes. Stop adding the oil after the mayonnaise has gotten to the required uniformity. You do not need to add the whole oil. If it turns out a little bit too thick, thin it with some warm water.

You can regulate the flavoring with the addition of more mustard seed or vinegar, if required, and season with some white pepper and sea salt.

If you are mixing with a food processor, add the egg yolks into the food processor's bowls, or in some mini-food processor. Include the vinegar, the mustard, the pepper and the salt. Pulse once or more times to blend.

Turn on the processor, and with the motor still running, introduce the oil gradually from the lid's top. After about two minutes, the uniformity of the mixture will be altered and the mixture blends and emulsifies into a very thick, rich paste. You should not add more oil after the mayonnaise reaches the required level of uniformity. Again you don't really need to use the whole oil. You can thin the mayonnaise with some water if it comes out a bit too thick.

Taste the sauce to know if the flavoring needs some adjustments. You can add more mustard seed, vinegar, if necessary, and add some more sea salt seasoning and a bit of white pepper to get the desired taste.

You can either serve the mayonnaise immediately or keep it in the fridge for about one day.

Answered: How to make food less salty?

If you are cooking soup or stews, you can just add more water to make food less salty. You can also use other liquid depending on the recipe. For example, if you are cooking a chicken dish with tomato sauce as one of the ingredients, then you can add more sauce to dilute the salt. But remember that adding more liquid into your soup or stew will also dilute its flavor. Take that into consideration before you open the faucet so you won’t end up with a bland dish.

But if the overly salty dish is dry or with very little sauce in it, there is really not much you can do. One trick that you can try to salvage your food is to add a little sugar or other sweeteners. The sweet taste will offset the saltiness and might even enhance the flavor of the dish if you are lucky.

And if you are just in the early part of your recipe, rinsing the food is the best way to remove the salt. Of course this will only work if you are just in the early part of your food preparation. Otherwise, rinsing will totally destroy your food. Rinsing also works great if you are using chunky ingredients like large cuts of chicken or pork.

Answered: Why do people drink alcohol?

The reasons people drink are more often than not just excuses.

People think drinking can help to deal with problems. But tbh, it is a way to escape them, to forget about them. Alcohol makes your mind goes fuzzy and helps people forget what troubles them, for a while anyway. The problems remain unsolved the next day. Alcohol does not fix what is wrong, it just makes it worse, because you are potentially adding alcoholism to your list of problems.

Many people think it’s cool to drink. The truth is, drinking isn’t “cool” by any stretch of the imagination. That’s just a lie the “cooler” people so they seem cool to people. Drinking makes you have slurred speech, clumsy, saying things that you don’t mean (or being honest which might be worse) and even throwing up.

Alcohol does not keep you warm but gives the illusion of doing so. You blood vessels are closer to your skin with drinking and so you lose body heat. Drinking makes your entire body colder, not warm.

And those excuses are often used by people to answer why do people drink alcohol. Perhaps they never think alcohol has been given wrong impressions to them. Meh

Answered: How to fix salty food

Add more food to a too-salty plate or bowl. For a very salty dish of spaghetti, add an extra helping of spaghetti to dilute the taste. Even if you do not have that much of an appetite, you can save the food for later. When you add more food, you avoid having to scrap out the salt particles manually. This step applies to a dish of spaghetti or rice or a bowl of nuts. Save the precious delicacies you have made for guests. No guest wants to taste too much salt in any dish, whether it is an appetizer or dinner.

Answered: Why do beans give you gas?

Beans are great. Whether you put them on the grill or just make them on the stove, they go great with a burger or anything that comes off of the grill.

But why do beans give you gas? The simple answer is because they are full of fiber. My body doesn’t react very well to fiber and I immediately feel like I am bloated. Expelling gas is the only way that I can feel less bloated, but it isn’t always the best for my friends and family!

Answered: How to soften brown sugar

If you want to sort out how to soften brown sugar, you should firstly know that when brown sugar loses its moisture, it becomes hard. So every technique used for making hardened brown sugar soft is aimed at returning moisture to the brown sugar.

Bread

This technique is ideal for you if you have enough foresight to know you will need brown sugar in a day or two. Keep your brown sugar sealed in a tightly sealed plastic container with one slice of a sandwich bread. The product will be a stale bread, which imparts the moisture on the brown sugar.

Apples

This is more or less like the first technique, but a good fall flavor will do it more good. Place your brown sugar alongside some slices of apple, after one or two days, the brown sugar will come out tasting great.

Microwave

Place your hardened brown sugar in a moderately large bowl and dampen with a paper towel. Microwave it for about 25 seconds. Don't let it stay longer to ensure the brown sugar does not melt to form a goo, this is the most effective method.

Marshmallow

Place some large marshmallows with the brown sugar. You can either use a bag or a sugar container, so long as it is airtight.

Damp Cloth

If you have adequate time at your disposal, place the sugar in a bowl and use a thick, wet cloth like a tea towel to keep it covered. Allow it to stand overnight. In the morning, it would have become soft again.

Store It the Proper Way First

Store it rightly can save you time wondering how to soften brown sugar. You only need two words here: Air-tight. Air and moist brown sugar are arch enemies, so storing it in a container that does not allow air passage is important. You have to keep the bag tightly rolled up, squeeze any air out, and use a rubber band to keep it wrapped. For more precautions, keep the original bag stored in a well-sealed plastic bag with a zip at the top.

Answered: Why is a hamburger called a hamburger?

The simple answer is that the hamburger was named in Hamburg, Germany. Interestingly enough, the name frankfurter (or hot dog) came from Frankfurt, Germany.

In the early 18th century, some Germans who traveled to Asia noticed that the locals there would place their beef between their saddles while riding horses, to help soften it for later consumption. The Germans loved the idea of soft seasoned meat, so they brought the practice back with them to Hamburg. As time went on, it became known has Hamburg meat.

Later, when German immigrants came to the United States, they brought the recipe with them. The first recorded mention of Hamburg meat in the US was by the Boston Evening Journal in 1884, calling it “Hamburg Steak”. Naturally, American cooks were quick to put their own spin on the dish. Charlie Nagreen is credited with making the first “American Hamburger” in 1885 at the Outgamie County Fair in Seymour, Wisconsin. However, his hamburger was not on a bun and certainly didn’t have any cheese or bacon. Poor guy didn’t know what he was missing. As with most great things in history, the hamburger took some time to progress in to what we call it today. The first hamburger on a bun was found at the 1904 World Fair in St. Louis.

Reference:

http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/question425.htm

Answered: How to cook rice noodles

How to cook rice noodles with the right water temperature? The temperature of the water will be determined by the method you choose to use.

If you choose to use the pad Thai method (soak rice noodles in hot water), here is the procedure to follow: http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/pad-thai.

You can use the warm water procedure for any other stir-fry dish. This method allows you to cook the noodles partially to soften them a bit while they retain their hardness inside. If you want to add the rice noodles to your soup, this method is also appropriate.

However, you can easily add your noodles to your soup without cooking or soaking them first. Then use boiling water to either cook your noodles fully or partially, but this is the only known way you can cook your noodles unless you plan to cook them for a longer period as an aspect of another dish. If the rice noodles is intended as part of a cool noodle dish, the boiling technique is still appropriate. This includes both bean and salad dishes. When cooking flat rice noodles to be used as wrappers, boiling the noodles is also an option.

Below are some of the step by step instructions

Get all your rice noodles placed in a deep bowl for mixing, and try not to snap a lot of them while removing them from the pack.

Boil some large quantity of water. Pour the warm/boiling water on top the rice noodles until you submerge them completely.

Stir the noodles to make them more loosened every one or two minutes. Once you notice they have gone limp completely, taste them to see if they have been cooked thoroughly. The vermicelli noodles with a thread-like appearance used for making spring rolls will be well cooked within a few minutes. But the flat noodles, depending on their body thickness might take about 10 minutes to cook through. Be attentive and make sure you taste the noodles often to make sure they don't turn out mushy from overcooking.

Once you are sure your rice noodles have become tender, get them drained and run a very cool water through them to end the cooking. If you won't use them immediately, tossing them with some sesame oil will ensure they do not stick together.

More to read:

Even with a little sesame oil, the noodles will still stick to each other once they have been drained. But once you mix them in your dish, they will get loosened again.

I equally make use of some of the following techniques sometimes, check and see if it can inspire you on how to cook rice noodles. http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/slideshow/rice-noodle-recipes/?slide=13

Answered: Why do we need carbohydrates?

Why do we need carbohydrates? Because these carbohydrates actually protect the proteins in our body. If there are not enough carbohydrates in the diet, the body will seek to other sources for energy, usually fats and proteins. Carbohydrates are our body more efficient source of energy. While we can use fats for energy, they are terribly less efficient, which is why having a low-carbs diet with no exercise is an extremely slow method to lose weight. Then there’re the proteins. We don’t want the proteins to be our use in our energy. The main role of proteins is to supply amino acid which leads to muscle development, which is why bodybuilders are encouraged to consume more meats that are rich in protein. If the proteins are instead redirected to replace the usual role of the glucose, they aren’t able to provide as much for the muscles and hinder the growth. It’s all about the balance, where all the nutrients support each other and having their own roles to fulfill, with carbohydrates being the main source of our energy.

Answered: Why are my cookies flat?

Here is a compilation of all the possible causes of flat cookies:

You might have used too much sugar or fat.

You might have used all the butter.

The temperature of your oven was perhaps quite low.

Maybe you used a soft dough.

Maybe your dough wasn't chilled properly.

Perhaps you greased your pans too much.

Maybe you placed your dough on warm baking pans.

Maybe your margarine was low-fat.

Maybe the baking powder wasn't enough.

Maybe you added excess egg.

Maybe your flour was a high-protein flour.

Make sure you run a careful check on the material you used.

You can solve this problem using several tips:

Keep your dough refrigerated: Leave it to chill for some hours, or all through the night before you start baking. This is one single most important tip to make sure your dough does not come out with the wrong shape. This will often prevent the melting of the butter in the oven before the starch sets. This will also make the flavor better. If you don't have patience, put the balls of dough into your pan, then leave it in the freezer until your dough becomes firm and cool.

Keep your oven preheated: You don't have to be impatient here, make sure your oven is completely preheated. For the same reason mentioned in Point 1 about melting butter. Also, make sure you have an accurate oven temperature. This applies to all your baking. Get a cheap thermometer for your oven.

Keep your pans cooled: Keep baking sheets in cold water for about two minutes between batches. Never make the mistake of putting your cookie on a warm sheet. Again, always remember how quick butter melts and how quick cookies spread.

Follow the recipe correctly: Weigh on measure all ingredients accurately. Be careful not to add too much butter, which often happens when you use the guide on the wrapper. For precise accuracy, always use a scale for all your measurements. One cup of butter weighs 8 oz/ 22g. Most recipes use much eggs, but make sure the quantity of eggs will not affect the liquid content of your cookies.
Answered: Why do people hate Madison Beer?

There’s a rumor that sparked people hating Madison Beer about her bullying a kid that was gay. People have been saying that she bullied this kid so badly that he ended up committing suicide. They have even gone so far as to say that she had a party on the day of the boy’s funeral so that less people would go to his funeral. However, there’s really no proof that this ever happened and seems pretty unlikely. Madison was only 12 years old, and I don’t see any 12 year old being that mean and spiteful for something so petty.

Answered: Why do I get sleepy after I eat?

First, it’s common, almost everyone has this experience after eating and the culprit is probably is the food we eat.

See, most of us don’t stop to think about what type of foods we are eating when we sit down for a meal unless we are on a strict diet. Many of us are extremely busy in our day to day life, so it’s easy to just grab something that is convenient which is typically loaded with carbohydrates or sugar.

You will often hear during Thanksgiving time that people take naps after the celebratory meal because turkey contains a sleep triggering chemical call tryptophan. However, did you know that this is actually a normal chemical contained in the human body and produced when insulin trigger the movement of tryptophan? If you eat a meal that is high in sugar and carbohydrates, you may find yourself feeling as though you could fall asleep at your desk. Many of us have jobs that require us to stay sedentary the entire day, so when we consume large amounts of sugars or fast food, it makes us sleepy after we eat because we just aren’t moving enough to burn off the excess sugar that we have consumed. This is caused by an increase in serotonin which is the chemical that helps control sleep.

So, why do we feel sleepy after eating? It’s caused by an increase in serotonin which is the chemical that helps control sleep.

Answered: Why does sprite help nausea?

I remember when I was a child my mother used to give me Sprite every time I had an upset stomach. It wouldn’t matter what time of the day or night it was, she would always have a bottle on hand for when my brother or I would get an upset stomach. It never failed that when we drank it, we would feel better within a few minutes. Typically it caused lots of burping and at times even caused unintentional vomiting, which seemed to stop the problem almost immediately.

Why did my cake not rise?

My best friend’s birthday is coming up, and I plan on baking her favorite cake from scratch for the party. Thankfully I decided to do a test run because I’m not much of a baker, but my cake ended up completely flat! I’m not sure if I left something out or didn’t bake it correctly, but I’d really like to make another successful cake from scratch still. Why didn’t my cake rise correctly?

Why are Moscow mules in copper cups?

I love the Moscow mule! The kick from vodka, spiciness of ginger beer with a refreshing aftertaste of lime. It’s a great cocktail. I want to know why is it the Moscow mule always served in a copper mug. What kind of tradition brings it to the now classy way of serving a cocktail? To keep the drinks cold? Then why isn’t other cocktail served the same way?
