I just got an iPhone and all of my imessages are sending to all but one person, whose other imessages are working also. I’ve tried restarting my phone, but nothing has helped. Why isn’t my imessage sending?

You should probably check your settings first to see if your imessages aren’t sending because it’s turned off. If you look at Settings then Messages, you can check if your iMessage, Send as SMS, or MMS Messaging is on or off. Turning all of these on will make your imessages send. If all of these features were already on, trying turning them off and then back on to just reset things in case there was a glitch.

If your imessage isn’t sending to someone, try deleting your conversation with them and start a fresh one. Unfortunately, once it’s deleted you won’t be able to recover it, but you can take a screenshot of anything important before deleting. If you and that person have a long message history that’s slowing up space, deleting it to free up space should help your imessages send faster.

I’d suggest contacting your cellphone carrier if you’re having trouble receiving or sending imessages. Check your text messaging plan to make sure it’s not a data issue or other texting restriction.

There might be a network issue that’s causing your imessages to fail. You can wipe all the stored settings to remove whatever is blocking your imessages from sending. Go to Settings, General, Reset, and then Reset Network Settings to do this.

So you ask “why won't my imessage send”… You know your imessages might have trouble sending if your iPhone is overdue for an update. It needs this update in order to send imessages correctly to another phone that already has the update. First, restart your phone. Then check for either a carrier settings update or a iOS software update.
