Everyone seems to have an opinion on why abortion is wrong. Whether they believe that it is wrong to take a life that has a heartbeat or whether it’s for religious reasons, the standpoint from some groups is extremely strong as to abortion. However, there are other opinions that support the idea of abortion and they too have their own reasons for supporting their standpoint on abortion.

What is it about abortion that makes it wrong in the eyes of so many? The answer can be explained by the definition of murder. The definition of murder states that a person unlawfully kills another, usually with malice. With that being said a baby, from conception is a human being. So it is only logical to think that when you decide to take the life of a baby, even if it’s barely visible to the human eye, you are deciding to murder a person.

Life begins at the moment of conception, so the argument that a newly conceived human life doesn’t have the ability to feel doesn’t hold a lot of weight. Rather, a person should think of it as the baby doesn’t have a choice and by most standards in society when a person doesn’t have a choice, the act is usually considered wrong, especially if the action results in death. Would you take another human life just because you don’t want them around? Chances are the answer is no. So why would you kill your unborn child? Maybe you don’t want the baby or can’t take care of it, but there are plenty of people in the world who don’t even have the choice to conceive that would more than likely give your unborn child a loving home.

Nothing can wrong if used in the right way, and nothing will be right if used in a wrong way. So why abortion is wrong, it’s not a question, different people have different opinions on that, and don’t let others affect you.

There are so many pro-life advocates out there that say that abortion is wrong that sometimes it’s difficult to take a more realistic approach to the choice. Abortion is a choice. It’s not a matter of killing another person with malice in your heart, rather it’s a decision that is not taken lightly by most and for some it can even help to save their own life. There are multiple occasions in a woman’s life when an abortion may be the best answer to a situation. Let’s say a woman becomes very ill during the first few weeks of her pregnancy. The doctor’s tell her that there is no way that the baby can be carried to full term and if she tries carry the baby she also will risk her own life. Is it really wrong at that point to have an abortion? If you are saving your own life and you know the baby isn’t going to survive, it’s not a bad decision and most certainly doesn’t make a much needed abortion wrong. What if you are walking home one night and you are raped? You learnt two months later that you are pregnant with your rapist’s baby. Would you have an abortion or would you choose to live with a child that you don’t want that reminds you every day of your rapist? There is nothing wrong with abortion if it is used for the right reasons. But are you the person who should judge what the right reasons really are?
