There is nothing that I enjoy more than the summertime and that includes all the great food that comes with it. However, I have found that eating beans, which is a regular staple during the summer, gives me gas. Why are beans giving me gas?! It is embarrassing after I have had a great meal to be uncomfortable because of the beans but I love them so much. Please help!

Beans are great. Whether you put them on the grill or just make them on the stove, they go great with a burger or anything that comes off of the grill.

But why do beans give you gas? The simple answer is because they are full of fiber. My body doesn’t react very well to fiber and I immediately feel like I am bloated. Expelling gas is the only way that I can feel less bloated, but it isn’t always the best for my friends and family!

Many people enjoy eating beans, but they also know that they will more than likely cause them some discomfort due to gas. So why do beans give you gas? There are very real reasons why this happens and it can mainly be contributed to the amount of sugars that can not be digested. Once the beans hit the colon through the digestion process, the sugars that are contained in the beans are not broken down and cause the uncomfortable feeling of gas. Did you know that if you eat beans on a regular basis, you can actually stop this process over time? If you want to avoid gas from beans all together, eat them daily so you build up an immunity to this embarrassing little fact.

Beans are the magical fruit that literally give you the toots. There is nothing that I enjoy more than eating a big helping of beans and then trapping my friends and family in the same room for some uncomfortable fun. I have no idea why do beans give you gas, but I know they give me gas because of all the fiber, which makes for great fun!
