Most girls are addicted to taking selfies, which can run into millions and upload them on their pages on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But my question is, why do girls take selfies that much and so often? What do these girls expect the men and women who see these loads of selfies to think of them or do to them? What is the major reason behind this attitude in girls? If you know the real reason why girls take selfies as a girl, try to be reasonable and sincere in your answer please...

On my part, I can be quite selective with the selfies I take and upload, because each selfie is a potential profile picture on my Facebook page. I love changing my Facebook profile picture as often as possible to make sure my page is far from being static and boring to viewers. The only downside is that most of my friends will find the selection process quite annoying. They can often reduce the amount of stuff that show up on their walls from mine. But I see it as a cautiously crafted and considered moment, I'm nothing like Van Gogh, so don't think I get my ear cut off just to paint a self-portrait. But each of the images is aimed at reflecting a particular mood and communicating something about me to everyone on my friend list. It is my personal page and I'm only trying to interpret and express myself. So it is quite self-involved.

The reason is not farfetched - girls are always unsure of themselves and how they look. So they upload these pictures so that people can reassure them that they are quite cute. They are just looking for attention from people. That's all there is to girls and their incessant and unending selfies. Girls are quite fascinating in this manner. They just don't want people to stop noticing them.

I hate being photographed, the reason is that I feel I never look good in pictures and this makes me shake physically whenever someone tries to take a picture of me at some events like a wedding or my graduation. That is the reason why I'm addicted to selfies - I would rather take the pictures myself. This way I'm solely in charge of my looks and where the pictures end up. The moment anyone tags me in any picture they took, I never waste any time to untag myself. The four years and six months I spent working in LA affected me and my four sisters are all photogenic. Our ages are quite close, so we compare ourselves to one another, which is quite natural. If I don't look good enough and feel awesome, my entire day can be affected. So whenever you upload a selfie and someone hits the like button, it simply shows you look great.

Why do girls take selfies? I don't know what other girls say, but here are the reasons why I take selfies:

  1. It gives me a chance to get cute all over
  2. It gives me a pretty feeling
  3. It makes people compliment me a lot
  4. Sometimes I'm very idle and it can be quite boring.

They love seeing comments that say they are pretty. My friends get thousands of likes and comments whenever they upload new selfies, which motivates them to upload more to get more attention from the opposite sex. What I'm trying to say is that I hate those selfies and never like or comment on them. I never feel like doing so. But the teenage girls need these compliments about how awesome they look and all they want is the attention. That is all about girls and why they take selfies.
